As a therapist and coach, I realised very early on in my career that one of the key components to seeing a change in my clients was based on the healthy habits they implemented into their life, and the unhealthy ones they eliminated. Research shows that we spend around 40% of our time performing habits, that’s nearly half of our life! I don’t know about you but that’s a daunting thought. This is why knowing what unhealthy habits we have, as well as the ones we want to form, is crucial for change. However, knowing more about yourself isn’t the same as doing something about it. To change you must take action on your goals. Acting on them involves creating new habits. It is true that habit formation isn’t an overnight thing, but if you are consistent with them, you will notice a difference sooner than you think. They require dedication and patience, but as long as you stay focused, you will create the life you want.
